Car improvements can reap rewards
25th November 2009
Now is the time to invest in improvements to second-hand cars, according to research from Kwik-Fit.
The car repair specialist conducted a survey which found that 6.4 million motorists making improvements over the next 12
months as second-hand car values soar.
David White, customer services director at Kwik-Fit, commented: Whereas money once spent on used cars might have been
viewed as ‘dead money’, second hand car owners are increasingly more prepared to spend money to keep their car in good
condition as they are more likely to get what they shell out back when they sell it.
Kwik-Fit recommends simple steps to improve the comfort, performance and value of a second-hand car such as regular
servicing, recharging the air conditioning system, fitting a satnav, new alloy wheels or a new exhaust.
Compared to this time last year, used car values have improved by almost eight per cent according to the latest HPI Used
Car Valuations Index.
