Amazon.com launches automotive parts and accessories retail section

24th October 2006

Online retailer Amazon.com has launched a new Automotive Store retail section on its US website for automotive parts, ranging from accessories to tyres and diagnostic tools, and claims to offer more than a million new, used and remanufactured parts to online users, who can identify the right parts by entering the year, make and model of their vehicle. EBay has taken a lead in selling parts as well as cars on its US and other websites.

- IBM announced yesterday that it had filed two patent infringement suits against Amazon.com, after what it described as nearly four years of attempts to resolve its concerns with Amazon.com over infringement of IBM patents.
