RMIF welcomes Road Safety Bill clause on LPG conversion tests

24th April 2006

“The Retail Motor Industry Federation (RMIF) welcomes the planned introduction of regulations to ensure that cars modified to run on LPG are subject to a safety test after the conversion has been carried out,” said Matthew Carrington, RMIF chief executive, last week, commenting on the Parliament Road Safety Bill Committee discussion of 20 April. Clause 56 of the Bill will empower to the Secretary of State to introduce regulations which will require MOT testing stations to ensure that the annual test takes into account that such cars have been modified.
