New president for Guild of Motoring Writers

The Pink Floyd drummer and car enthusiast Nick Mason has accepted an invitation to stand as the new president of the Guild of Motoring Writers, following the death of the former president Lord Strathcarron in August 2006. The son of the late Guild member and film-maker Bill Mason,Mason has been involved in motor racing since the early 1970s and has entered Le Mans five times.

Nick Mason has contributed to a number of magazines on motoring issues over the years, and is a trustee of the Beaulieu National Motor Museum, and a life member and Guardian of the BRDC.
