Ford Europe appoints director to lead alternative fuels strategy
19th Febuary 2007
Ford Europe has appointed Jan Brentebraten to the newly-created position of director, flexifuel and alternative fuel vehicles strategy, Autowired.co.uk has reported.
Last year, Ford announced a £1bn investment to develop a broad range of environmental technologies for Ford, Jaguar, Land Rover and Volvo cars, aimed at making mobility more sustainable. These technologies include flexifuel - also known as FFV - and alternative fuel vehicles. Under this plan more than 100 models and derivatives with improved emissions or fuel economy will be introduced over the next five years.
Brentebraten was previously director of European import/export operations for Ford, and since joining the company in 1978 has held posts including that of managing director of Ford Scandinavia and president of Mazda Motor Europe.
