German win at 2008 Formula Student

16th July 2008

Last weekend’s 2008 Formula Student collegiate racecar design competition resulted in overall for the German Universitat Stuttgart team which won by a comfortable points from the teams representing Delft University of Technology in Holland and UAS Graz in Austria.

The Universitat Stuttgart team’s success was aided by victories in the acceleration, skid pad, sprint and endurance-economy events that go towards the final team scores.

Team Bath was the best placed UK university in fourth place overall while the new low carbon class 1A competition was won by the UK’s University of Hertfordshire with its hydrogen powered car that also took the EEMS Prize for the competition’s lowest carbon production car.
