AutoLogic launches First Fleet vehicle services and remarketing subsidiary

15th September 2006

First Fleet, a recently established wholly-owned subsidiary of AutoLogic, the automotive logistics supplier, already counts Motability Operations and Helphire, the provider of accident management services to non-fault drivers, among its customers. More than 60 people representing vehicle manufacturers, contract hire and leasing companies, daily rental organisations, major fleets and car dealer groups attended the champagne customer launch of First Fleet in London.

First Fleet provides a cradle-to-grave service comprising new vehicle PDI and delivery, in-life vehicle management, end of contract vehicle inspection and de-fleeting and vehicle refurbishment and remarketing. Supporting the services is a totally dedicated transport fleet handling both single and bulk movements.

Its Managing director is Gerry Lynch, who said at the company’s launch, “Ultimately, our success depends on a culture of operational excellence and customer intimacy at all levels of the business. It is that confidence in delivering a complete package, efficiently, reliably, accurately and, crucially, at the right price, that gives us the supreme confidence to offer guaranteed levels of service and delivery to customers at performance levels equal to 100% of agreed targets. Historically, the industry has failed to meet such expectations.”

Adrian Rushmore, managing editor of industry used vehicle experts EurotaxGlass’s, attending the launch, said: “This is a gilt-edged opportunity to deliver a fast efficient and cost-effective end-to-end defleeting service, given that the average devaluation for a three-year-old car is running at between £5 and £10 per day.”

First Fleet is already undertaking vehicle refurbishment work at its two operational centres in Doncaster and Chipping Warden on end-of-contract vehicles on behalf of Motability Operations, the UK’s largest fleet operator with around 430,000 vehicles on its books.
