Toyota assists Chinese government technician training programme
11th April 2007
Toyota Motor Corporation (TMC) announced yesterday that it is supporting a Chinese government programme for training automotive maintenance technicians by helping to devise the curriculum and providing teaching materials, vehicles and establishing scholarships. The Chinese government's programme is based on TMC's TEAM 21 (Technical Education for Automotive Mastery for the 21st Century) curriculum for automotive maintenance. The government plans to introduce the programme at 25 vocational schools throughout China.
Toyota has also established a Toyota Study Assistance Fund in China, and a research centre in collaboration with Tsinghua University, and has created a ‘Toyota Environmental Protection Aid Programme for China's Youth’ and is implementing tree-planting programmes.
