8th October 2008

Last weekend the General Motors factory backed Corvette Racing team and the Penske Racing Porsche team won the first Green Challenge trophies to be awarded in the American Le Mans Series sportscar racing championship.

The teams won the Green Challenge in their respective classes, Corvette in GT and Porsche in LMP, in the 1,000 mile Petit Le Mans ALMS race that took place at the Road Atlanta circuit last Saturday.

The Green Challenge was created in conjunction with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, the U.S. Department of Energy and SAE International, the world's leading automotive engineering organization.
