UK motorsport to undergo eco-audit
8th August 2008
A report in this week’s issue of Autosport magazine says that the Motor Sports Association is to carry out an audit of UK motorsport to assess its environmental impact.
Alan Gow, the chairman of the MSA which is the governing body of UK motorsport, told Autosport, “It is an issue that we need to address positively and pro-actively, for if we don’t then I have no doubt that media or public pressure will result in government legislation that will force us to take unnecessary measures.
“We have a duty to our sport to act responsibly and to protect it from outside influences or legislation that may unduly hamper it. By carrying out this audit it demonstrates our clear commitment – importantly to government, the public and the media – that we are being pro-active in looking at these issues.”
