Shell to supply 2G biofuel to World Rally Championship in 2009

At last week’s meeting of the FIA’s World Motor Sport Council in Paris the governing body of international motorsport confirmed that Shell had won the tender to be the exclusive fuel supplier to the FIA World Rally Championship from 2008 to 2010.
Under the terms of its agreement with the FIA Shell will continue to supply the current specification of unleaded gasoline of fuel for 2008 but from 2009 it will be supplying a second-generation biofuel, which is aimed at reducing CO2 emissions.
