Chrysler to launch USA’s first diesel full-size SUV

Chrysler Group will announce the first diesel-powered, full-size SUV to be offered in the US; the 2007 Jeep Grand Cherokee with a 3.0- litre Mercedes-developed common rail turbo diesel (CRD) engine will arrive at US Jeep dealerships next spring.
The 3.0-litre CRD engine, built by Mercedes-Benz, produces 215hp and gets an estimated US fuel economy of 19 mpg (urban) and 23 mpg (highway).
